Northern Ceramic Society Meetings

The Northern Ceramic Society holds monthly meetings on a Saturday at differing venues in Northern England. These meetings are free of charge to all members, and usually feature a morning lecture and afternoon lecture or lectures by speakers on a specialist aspect of antique or collectable ceramics.

The Society’s programme of meetings runs from February to June, and from September to November, with winter and summer breaks. In June or July there is also a special Summer Visit to a privately owned house or to a specialist museum offering a chance to view a ceramic collection not normally open to the public.

The next regular Saturday meeting is after the summer break on 27th September: see Autumn 2008 programme on next page . . .

NCS members visiting Edinburgh this summer may be interested in visiting an exhibition of West Pans porcelain. The exhibition will be on show in the City of Edinburgh Museum (Huntly House) and will run from 26th June until  23rd August 2008. Admission is free. A  colour catalogue (sponsored by Historic Scotland, National Museums Scotland and Bonhams) will be on sale.

The catalogue will also be available from Reference Works at £17.50  http://www.referenceworks.co.uk
