Since ceramics were first made, decoration has been a significant part of Their attraction to both contemporary customers and modern collectors.  This conference will share some thoughts on different kinds of decoration, and how pottery and porcelain’s decorative qualities have been exploited.

Venue

 Summer School 2018
will be held at the University of Chester
Parkgate Road, Chester

Accommodation, dining room and conference facilities are all close to each other on the Parkgate site.  Bedrooms are in anewly built block and are accessible by lift, they each have a British queen-size bed, and ensuite facilities with a shower, also provided  are tea and coffee making equipment and a refrigerator.

Course members will have access to the campus swimming pool, free for sessional swimming subject to availability, and to  the fitness suite at a sessional charge of £5:00 payable at the fitness suite.

The residential cost of Summer School is £395. This includes three nights accommodation, meals, wine reception, refreshments, and conference sessions.

A non-residential package is available at £325 and includes the wine reception, day-time refreshments , lunches and evening meals

Bursaries are available to anyone (NCS members and non-members) who feels they would benefit from the opportunity to attend. The bursaries cover conference sessions, meals and accommodation but not travel to Chester.
