Dudson and Ridgway
Jet ware is earthenwarewith a shiny black finish which provides a ground for a variety of decorative treatments including painting, printing and jewelling.
Ebony is the trade name for a brand of jetware that was long believed to be the product of the Dudson factory. Recent research has begun to suggest that it was also made by E.J. Ridgway at the Bedford Works. For more detailed information see A Dudson Ridgway Enigma by Tony Curnock in the Northern Ceramic Society Newsletter 194, June 2019.
