People & Pots: Makers & The Marketplace
Our Summer Seminar will cover a wide range of pottery & porcelain topics. We will discuss pottery & porcelain makers, the wares and the people who made them, owned them and used them. From Medieval Chester to 18th century Colonial Williamsburg and the 20th century British semi-detached – what ceramics did people use? What wares were part of the export trade? Who ran the most exclusive 18th century porcelain factory in London and who owned some of the smaller, yet significant early 19th century porcelain factories in Staffordshire? Join us for an unforgettable summer seminar where curiosity knows no bounds and every question leads to a new discovery!
