Where do designs come from?
The seminar will cover a wide range of topics. We will look at the origin of shapes, inspiration from China and Japan, the rise of the specialist ceramic designer in the 19th century and the influence of science on 20th century patterns.
Speakers
Speakers include Paul Atterbury, Robin Emmerson, Pat Halfpenny, Ben Miller and Nicholas Panes.
Venue
This is a residential seminar at the University of Chester, non-residential places are available.
Bursaries
The NCS makes two bursaries available to members or non-members who feel they would benefit from the opportunity to attend summer school. The bursaries cover conference sessions, meals and accommodation but not travel to Chester. Please send application using this link
